Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition in which the prostate gland enlarges. The prostate gland is a small gland that sits below the bladder in men. It produces fluid that helps to make semen. BPH is a common condition that affects about half of all men over the age of 50. As the prostate enlarges, it can put pressure on the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.

This can cause problems with urination, such as: Weak or interrupted urine flow, frequent urination, especially at night, a feeling of urgency to urinate, pain or burning when urinating.

In some cases, BPH can lead to more serious problems, such as urinary tract infections, kidney damage, or even kidney failure. There are a number of different treatment options available for BPH. The best treatment for you will depend on the severity of your symptoms and your overall health.

Symptoms Of An Enlarged Prostate

An enlarged prostate, or BPH, can cause frequent trips to the bathroom, especially at night, bladder discomfort, and changes in sexual function.
These symptoms can disrupt daily life, but effective treatment can bring lasting relief.

Frequent Urination

Needing to go more often than usual during the day.

Nightly Urination

Waking up multiple times to use the bathroom.

Bladder Pressure

Feeling constant fullness or discomfort in the bladder area.

Sexual Function

When Prostate Health Impacts Intimacy and Desire.

Treatment

Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE) is a minimally invasive procedure that can be used to treat Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) or an enlarged prostate.
